IPL 2020: Match 29, SRH vs CSK – Chennai Super Kings Player Ratings
The Super Kings held their nerve and clinched their third victory of the tournament.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK), somehow managed to give themselves a breather, beating the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 20 runs at the Dubai International Stadium. With the triumph, not only did MS Dhoni and Co move one place up to sixth in the table, but also kept their playoffs hopes alive.
Having gotten the chance to bat first, CSK had the odds in their favour as chasing teams have faltered in Dubai. The Yellow Army got 167 for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs. This time around, their middle-order didn’t flatter to deceive owing to which their innings got a kick in the death overs.
While defending the not-so-huge total, the CSK bowlers turned the screws on the SRH batters and their tactic worked. Meanwhile, with the defeat, the Sunrisers lost their fifth game out of eight and stayed at the fifth position.
Here are the CSK Player Ratings for the SRH vs CSK match: –
Sam Curran- 9/10
Sam Curran was promoted to open the batting and he didn’t disappoint, scoring 31 runs off 21 balls with three fours and two sixes. With the ball in hand, the seamer got the wicket of David Warner.
Faf du Plessis- 1/10
Faf du Plessis had a rather forgettable day with the bat in hand. He faced his first ball in the third over of CSK’s innings and bagged a golden duck. Sandeep Sharma found his outside edge to get him.
Shane Watson- 8/10
Shane Watson wasn’t overly fluent, but helped CSK recover from Du Plessis’ early wicket. The veteran scored 42 off 38 balls and played until the 17th over. T Natarajan accounted for his wicket.
Ambati Rayudu- 8.5/10

MS Dhoni- 7.5/10
MS Dhoni used the long handle to very good effect. He smashed 21 off 13 balls with two fours and a six, playing at a strike-rate of 161.53. He also put forth his A-game as far as captaincy was concerned.

Deepak Chahar- 7.5/10

Piyush Chawla- 6/10
Piyush Chawla made his comeback and he didn’t get much of a chance to bowl. He was entrusted for a solitary over and he gave away eight runs. Despite not being expensive, he didn’t get another over.
