Mumbai Indians clinched IPL 2020 with an impressive five-wicket win over Delhi Capitals on Tuesday. The Mumbai-based franchise became the first team in the history of the IPL to win the tournament five times. No other team has won the IPL more than three times. Mumbai Indians also became the second team after Chennai Super Kings to retain the title.

Despite the top two teams of IPL 2020 taking on each other, the final didn’t really live up to the lofty expectations as Mumbai Indians showed their class. Playing their sixth final, Mumbai beat the first-time finalists without any fuss. For Delhi, nothing much went their way despite their skipper Shreyas Iyer winning the important toss.

Batting first, Delhi were reeling at 22 for 3 in the fourth over before fifties from Iyer and Rishabh Pant helped them post a respectable total of 156 for 7. The modest score was never going to be enough for Mumbai’s power-packed batting line-up and the defending champions proved it right by chasing down the total with eight balls to spare.

Nita Ambani crashes interview:

After the end of the match, a hilarious incident took place when Mumbai Indians owner Nita Ambani crashed Quinton de Kock and Nathan Coulter-Nile’s interview by mistake. Both the players were being interviewed by the broadcaster while Nita Ambani was going around congratulating the players for the historic triumph.

When she saw de Kock and Coulter-Nile standing together, she approached them to congratulate on the win. However, she didn’t take long to realise that the two were giving interviews. She gleefully addressed de Kock and walked up to him to shake hands before spotting the microphone.

The players and commentators were in splits as she said: “Quinton!!! Oh, are you giving an interview?”. Commentator Simon Doull asked her to stay but she decided to walk away.

Here is a clip of the hilarious incident:

De Kock played an important role in Mumbai’s win this season. The South Africa superstar finished IPL 2020 as Mumbai Indians’ top-run scorer. The wicketkeeper-batsman finished the competition with an impressive 503 runs in 16 games. He will be seen in action soon when he leads South Africa in the upcoming limited-overs series against England at home.
