Despite all the obstacles, they’re still seen as one of the favourite sides to clinch the IPL 2020 trophy. The credit rather goes to ‘Thala’ MS Dhoni. Since the inception of the IPL, the Ranchi stalwart has played a crucial role in the side’s success. With three titles under their belt, they’ve been the most consistent IPL side so far. CSK are the only IPL team to qualify for the playoff stage in each edition of their appearance in the league.
Considering Dhoni’s leadership, wicketkeeping and finishing skills, CSK are expected to add another trophy in their vitrine by delivering in this year’s IPL. After losing IPL 2019 final against MI by the narrowest of margins, CSK will be eager to put up a dominant show this time.
While Dhoni has hung up his boots on a 16-year illustrious career with Team India, he will now be seen donning the CSK colours in the UAE. Talking about Dhoni’s performance in the IPL, he has scored 4432 runs in 190 matches at an impressive average of 42.20. Regarded as the face of the Chennai franchise, Dhoni possesses the ability to single-handedly steer them from the jaws of defeat.
