IPL 2020: Shikhar Dhawan reveals why he didn't opt for DRS against SRH
Shikhar Dhawan crossed the 600-run mark in IPL 2020 after his thunderous innings against SRH.
Delhi Capitals registered a great win over David Warner and his men in Qualifier 2 to fix a date with Mumbai Indians in IPL 2020 finals. Shikhar Dhawan boosted the batting display of Delhi with his thunderous knock of 78 runs. With his latest innings in the bag, he crossed 600 runs mark in IPL 2020 and sat just next to Orange Cap holder KL Rahul. It was his fourth fifty in the tournament.
After having two centuries under his belt in IPL 2020, he has been walking up the field with commendable confidence. Even in the latest match, he showed splendid intent to take the team’s score over 200 before he was dismissed by SRH pacer Sandeep Sharma. The Southpaw could have avoided leaving the field by opting for DRS, but he chose to walk away silently. The replay stated that the umpire called out the wrong decision.
Delhi could have crossed 200 runs mark easily had he stayed a bit longer and would have inched closer to his dream of bagging the Orange Cap. In the same line of the incident, former hitter Yuvraj Singh asked Dhawan as to why he didn’t go for the DRS option. Dhawan has come up with a reply, and it suggests that the prolific batter had some confusion.
“Great come back by bowlers in the last 2-overs! Not even A single boundary scored hats off Natarajan and @sandeep25a pressure game execution to the point! @SDhawan25 man in form but naam to jatt ji hai Zany face. How bout Drs bro? as usual must have forgotten Face with tears of joy game on #DCvSRH,” tweeted Yuvraj
“Hahahah pajhi mainu lag gya plumb hai tah muuh chuk chal paya jadh boundary tey pahuncha tadh pata lag gya,” Dhawan replied in Punjabi.
Here is the reply by Shikhar Dhawan
Capitals posted 189/3 in the quota of 20 overs while batting first. While chasing the score, SRH stumbled under pressure as DC’s star pacer Kagiso Rabada named a terrific four-wicket hall on his name. Marcus Stoinis scalped three apart from his classy contribution with the bat as he came up to open the order for Delhi. He was named the player of the match.
