IPL 2020: Teamwise one player who may be a burden for his franchise
In the thick of such cut-throat competition, some of the players have been dishing out below-par performances.
6. Wriddhiman Saha – SRH
Saha is one of the most talented active wicketkeepers in the current season. His acrobatics and reflexes behind the stumps are second to none. However, he has been facing some issues with his batting since the last season.
In 2014, Saha became the first batsman to score a hundred in an IPL final when he struck 115 for Kings XI Punjab against Kolkata Knight Riders. However, he is now a pale shadow of the force he was a few years ago. He has been struggling with the willow and hence, has contributed to the much-discussed fragility of SRH’s middle order.
He got a chance to bat while replacing Vijay Shankar in the team for the second match. However, in a bid to save the innings from collapsing, he played rather slowly and could score only 30 runs at less than run-a-ball. SRH may be forced to introduce new players like Virat Singh and Abdul Samad if such performance by their experienced players continues.
