IPL 2020: Top 5 run-scorers in the tournament after the first week
These batsmen would be expected to take charge for the entire season for their respective franchises.
4. Rohit Sharma (Mumbai Indians)
Rohit Sharma has scored 92 runs in 2 innings this season at a strike rate of 143.75. With an average of 46, he has a top-score of 80 to his name. He has 5 fours and 6 maximums in the 2 innings he has played.
Rohit did not have the best of starts in this year’s Dream11 IPL. He scored a paltry 12 runs in the tournament opener against arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings. He was dismissed by IPL veteran Piyush Chawla, leaving his fans disappointed.
He stepped up against Kolkata Knight Riders, playing a captain’s knock of 80 off 54 deliveries. It was his first IPL 50 in the Emirates. He took on their star-bowler Pat Cummins, and dominated the proceedings. His knock ensured MI reach a good total and defeat KKR comprehensively. MI would hoping for him to stay in form, as he hasn’t exactly done that well with the bat in the last 3 seasons.
