IPL 2021: Aakash Chopra makes his predictions for the RCBvsDC game
In their previous meeting, RCB beat the Capitals by one run in Ahmedabad.
Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has put forth his predictions for the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals on Friday, October 8 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The Capitals, led by Rishabh Pant, have already sealed their spot in the top two and it’s about whether or not they finish on top of the points table in the ongoing IPL edition.
The Challengers, on the other hand, are also through to the playoffs. But they are also in with a mathematical chance of ending in the top two by toppling the Chennai Super Kings, although chances of the same happening is very bleak. In their previous game, Virat Kohli’s RCB lost to the Sunrisers Hyderabad by four runs at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
Aakash Chopra shares his opinions on the match
For the upcoming game, Chopra said that right-arm fast-bowler Harshal Patel will bag more than two wickets. “Harshal Patel to pick up more than two wickets,” Chopra was quoted as saying on his YouTube channel. Patel is currently the Purple Cap holder in the IPL 2021 and he has been exceptional while bowling in the death overs.
Glenn Maxwell has arguably been the standout batter for the Challengers in the tournament. Having scored five half-centuries until now, the Victorian is also the leading run-scorer for his team in the ongoing league. “Maxwell and De Villiers to score 60 plus runs,” he stated.
Chopra also predicted that the South African pace duo of Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada will pick up a combined tally of more than three wickets in the match. “Nortje and Rabada to pick up more than three wickets,” Chopra said.
Rabada and Nortje were two of the main reasons why the Capitals went on to play their maiden IPL final against the Mumbai Indians last season. Even this year, they have been impressive, having picked up wickets and bowling at decent economy rates.
Last, but not the least, Chopra predicted the Capitals to come out trumps on Friday, “Delhi to win the match,” he added. In their previous meeting, the Capitals lost to the Challengers by one run after failing to chase down 172 at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
