Aakash Chopra, the former Indian cricketer, has put forth his predictions for Saturday’s doubleheader in the 2021 Indian Premier League. In the first game of the day, Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals will lock horns with Sanju Samson’s Rajasthan Royals at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The Capitals are only a solitary win away from qualifying for the playoffs.

Chopra was pretty much clear cut in saying that the Capitals have a strong unit and are clearly the better of the two teams. However, he backed the Royals to win the game since he reckoned that Samson’s men are hungrier than their opponents. RR are on a two-match winning streak, but are hanging precariously at the middle of the points table.

Aakash Chopra shares his opinions

“Delhi has a strong team, but Rajasthan must be hungrier for a win. Delhi is stronger, but I’ll pick Rajasthan,” Chopra was quoted as saying on his official YouTube channel. In their previous meeting, the Royals beat the Capitals by three wickets after David Miller and Chris Morris’ heroics.

The second game of the day is set to take place between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Both teams are placed at the bottom half of the points table and need a win to climb the ladder, The Sunrisers are the cellar dwellers, having won only one game.

The Sunrisers will go into the game on the back of an eight-wicket loss at the hands of the Capitals. The Kings, on the other hand, snatched defeat from the jaws of victory against the Royals. PBKS failed to score four runs in the last over after Kartik Tyagi’s guile strangled them.

For the upcoming game, Chopra backed the Kings. The veteran said that PBKS may resort to a few changes in their lineup. However, he also said that the Sunrisers don’t have a lot of options to choose from if they wish to make changes to their eleven.

“You may choose Punjab at your own peril and you may rule out Punjab at your own peril as well. But I’m going with Punjab,” Chopra added. In their previous meeting, SRH defeated PBKS by nine wickets.
