IPL 2021: Bromance between MS Dhoni and Rishabh Pant ahead of DC vs CSK game goes viral

It was the battle between the top teams on Monday in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Delhi Capitals (DC) locked horns looking to seal their place in the top two of the points table. The skippers of the two teams, MS Dhoni and Rishabh Pant, are very good friends on and off the field. Rather many are calling it a Teacher vs Student clash with the latter succeeding Dhoni as the wicketkeeper-batter of India.

No wonder at the toss, the two were involved in a lengthy discussion which seemed to be funny. The duo also met  after a long time and were happy to see each other. Before and after the toss, they were involved in a long discussion as well much like how Virat Kohli and Dhoni were doing not long ago.

However, like always, Pant was in a humourous mood and Dhoni was also seen his laughing his heart out during the fun chat with his successor behind the wickets. Rishabh Pant is also celebrating his 24th birthday today and was seen getting wishes from the CSK camp as well after the toss.

Both DC and CSK make changes to their line-up

As far as the game is concerned, DC handed a debut to Ripal Patel in place of Steve Smith once again deciding to go with only three foreign players. As for CSK, they made three changes bringing back Dwayne Bravo and Deepak Chahar in place of Sam Curran and KM Asif respectively. The third change was Robin Uthappa replacing Suresh Raina who had a bad left knee according to MS Dhoni.

“We were looking to bat first, but we were not 100% sure, the wicket seems to be tacky. We have got a few changes – Sam is out, Bravo is back, Chahar replaces Asif and Robin Uthappa replaces Suresh Raina, who has a back issue. We are trying to rest players who have some niggles, top-two is important, if you have a bad day in the qualifiers, you have another chance to make a comeback,” Dhoni said at the toss.
