The thirty-second match of the resumed 14th edition of the Indian Premier League between Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings is currently underway at the Dubai International Stadium. Winning the toss, Punjab skipper KL Rahul opted to bowl first, while revealing that Chris Gayle, celebrating his 42nd birthday, misses out.
“No brainer, fresh wicket, don’t know how it will play. I personally prefer chasing. It’s good to be back in Dubai. We’ve had a lot of learnings from playing here last time. A lot of guys were playing international cricket, but we are all professionals and have done our best to prepare. [Foreign player]] Pooran, Markram, Adil Rashid, Fabian Allen. Markram will bat No. 3, unfortunately, Chris Gayle misses out,” said Rahul.
His counterpart, Royals skipper Sanju Samson stated: “We are good setting or chasing as a team that we have. We have great talent and great characters. The positive atmosphere in the team. Sangakkara wanted us to relax, and remind us that it’s just a game that you have to enjoy. Lewis, Livingstone, Morris, Mustafizur are the overseas players.”
CT Expert VRV Singh picks PBKS as favorites
Speaking at CricTracker Live Show In the Air, former cricketer and now expert VRV Singh said” “First of all, I would want a good game of cricket. The two fixtures so far have not been as exciting. I am sure that is something even the viewers would agree with. Speaking of the favourites today, I think Punjab would be able to give a better performance. So, going with them.”
He also reckoned that given two fixtures have been played in Dubai, both teams would have an idea of the track. “Because two games have been played in Dubai, both these teams would have some idea about how the track is playing, so they must have made their strategy and team selection keeping that in mind.”
