IPL 2021: Deepak Chahar hysterically gatecrashes Shardul Thakur's interview with Ravindra Jadeja, leaves all in splits

With one leg already inside the IPL 2021 playoff room, the Chennai Super Kings camp is breathing easy. The Yellow Brigade, after an impressive Indian leg of the tournament, have made a stellar start to the UAE campaign, scripting a hat-trick of victories to occupy the top spot in the table.
The cheerful mood of the CSK camp was for all to see in a recent video, posted on IPL’s official broadcaster Star Sports’ official Twitter, where Shardul Thakur can be seen interviewing teammate Ravindra Jadeja after his sensational, match-winning performance against Kolkata Knight Riders. Notably, Jadeja smashed Prasidh Krishna for two sixes and as many fours in the penultimate over to take CSK within a touching distance of the victory while chasing 172.
Meanwhile, during the duo’s conversation, pacer Deepak Chahar nonchalantly intervenes while consuming some eatables, leaving everyone in the room including Jadeja and Thakur in splits. Speaking about his performance, Jadeja said: “I was under pressure, I was thinking about my strength, finally I hit 20 runs in second last over and winning my team from there and so I am feeling very happy today.”
Jadeja’s 8-ball 22 had left CSK needing only four runs of the last over, bowled by Sunil Narine, who dismissed Jadeja and delivered a couple of dot balls to take the game to the last ball with a run needed. Although, Deepak Chahar ensured that Jadeja’s efforts did not go in vain, as he took his team across the line.
After the match, Player of the Match Jadeja appreciated openers Faf du Plessis and Ruturaj Gaikwad for giving CSK a brilliant start. “Rutu [Ruturaj Gaikwad] and Faf [du Plessis] gave us a good start. You need to be collective as a unit, whether with bat or ball. I was just backing my strength. He [Prasidh Krishna] was bowling with fine leg and square leg up. I thought he would bowl full outside off, and slow short ball. I thought he would give one ball up, and luckily, I connected well.
“After you have played five-day cricket and then to come to white-ball cricket, I was working on my bat swing. I wanted to repeat whatever I was doing. The runs in the second-last over turned out to be the match-winning over for us,” said Jadeja.
