Preview

Royal Challengers Bangalore are all set to lock horns with Chennai Super Kings in Match No.35 of the 2021 Indian Premier League on Friday, September 24 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The Super Kings, led by MS Dhoni, are placed second in the table with 12 points and a net run rate of 1.223.

Going into the next game, CSK have been bolstered with the inclusion of Sam Curran, who’s out of quarantine. But numbers don’t speak for CSK. In the 2020 IPL, the Yellow Army lost all three of their matches in Sharjah. Meanwhile, a win in their next match will take them back at the top of the table.

The Challengers, on the other hand, will want to shred the agony of their nine-wicket loss to Kolkata Knight Riders. Despite the loss, Virat Kohli’s men managed to stay among the top four teams. In Sharjah, RCB lost two of their three games last season and will want to change their fortunes.

Pitch Report

The pitch in Sharjah was a batting paradise to start with in IPL 2020. Scores of over even the 200-run mark weren’t deemed safe to defend. As the tournament progressed, the spinners also got a fair amount of assistance. A high-scoring game seems to be on the cards.

Probable best batsman of the match

Virat Kohli— Royal Challengers Bangalore

Virat Kohli hasn’t been in the best of form of late. In IPL 2021, the 32-year-old has notched 203 runs at an average of 29 and a strike rate of 121.55 with one half-century. In the previous game against KKR, he couldn’t cross the single-digit mark, Against CSK, Virat has decent numbers. In 26 innings, he has notched 895 runs at an average of 40.68 with as many as eight half-centuries.

Probable best bowler of the match

Wanindu Hasaranga– Royal Challengers Bangalore

Wanindu Hasaranga didn’t have a memorable debut for the Challengers. The KKR batters smashed him for 20 runs off two overs. But in Sharjah, he has a decent chance of tasting success. The pitch at the venue helps spinners and the leg-spinner can unleash his magic with his wrong ‘urns. Not to forget that he is more than a handy batter, although he bagged a duck last time.
