[WATCH] IPL 2025: Hardik Pandya's angst reaction at Will Jacks after SRH batters steal double
Sunrisers Hyderabad set a target of 163 for Mumbai Indians in Match No. 33 of IPL 2025.
In the ongoing Match No. 33 of the IPL 2025, Mumbai Indians' skipper Hardik Pandya had an outburst during the final over of the Sunrisers Hyderabad's innings, a misfield from Will Jacks allowed a second run off what should have been a single.
The incident took place in the final over of the first innings, with Aniket Verma mistiming a shot off a full delivery from Hardik and looking for a single. But a slow approach from Jacks in the deep allowed the batters to come back for two. The all-rounder, clearly frustrated, was seen shouting “How? How?!” in frustration. Notably, that over from Hardik ended up conceding 22 runs, with three sixes, which gave Hyderabad a total to bowl at on a two-paced Wankhede surface.

Hopefully, we will see it off at the top: Will Jacks
Earlier in the match, Jacks had dropped Abhishek Sharma off the very first ball of the innings at slips, a chance that proved costly as the SRH opener went on to top-score with 40. However, the Englishmen revealed that the team is happy with the target and hopes to be smart in the chase.
"Pretty happy. Three lefties in the top, so knew I had a chance to bowl. Definitely some turn. Some grip for the seamers. Sunrises saw us bowl, will do the same thing. We need to be smart and chase the score down. We had a clear plan. I was informed yesterday, I will be bowling. The coach and the captain gave me the confidence. So, I kept going. I think we are happy with the target. We saw it was difficult at the top. Hopefully, we will see it off at the top, take it deep and chase it down," told the broadcaster in the mid-innings break.
Meanwhile, until the 17th over, SRH were in a tricky situation. The pitch, which was gripping for the spinners and holding up for the seamers, saw Travis Head score 28 off 29 balls, and even Heinrich Klaasen also found it difficult early on. However, Deepak Chahar’s 18th over changed the game, as Klaasen hit two sixes in a 21-run over. Hardik's final over then saw Aniket Verma and Pat Cummins finish off brilliantly and pushing the total to 162/5.
