IPL 2021, Match 47: RR vs CSK, Stats Review: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Yashaswi Jaiswal's sensational hitting tinker record books
Yashaswi Jaiswal smashed the second-fastest half-century by an uncapped player in IPL.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 continues to amaze us! Two matches took place on super Saturday (October 2) and the proceedings were entirely different. While Mumbai Indians almost defended 130 against Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals chased down 190 against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) without any hassle. The evening game was even jaw-dropping as runs galore at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
Table-toppers CSK would have been confident after posting 189/4 while batting first. After all, RR’s batting order was struggling in the last few games. However, as the saying goes, the only certain thing in cricket is uncertainty. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shivam Dube smashed quickfire half-centuries as RR took mere 17.1 overs to cross the line. Not to forget, there were vital contributions from Evin Lewis and skipper Sanju Samson as well.
Coming to the first innings, Ruturaj Gaikwad stole the show with a blistering century. He scored runs for fun as RR bowlers endured a hard time against him. Unfortunately for CSK, the youngster’s efforts went in vain as RR crossed the line to keep their playoff hopes alive.
