The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) sides were occupying the 2nd and 3rd places respectively at the time of suspension.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad side looked clueless and was stationed at the last place in the points table, having won just one out of the 7 matches that they had played. And, when the tournament shifts to the UAE, the dynamics will change, and players will have to make adjustments to their game to emerge successful in the UAE.

The stand-out team of the 2021 edition of the IPL thus far has been the <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/t20/ipl-indian-premier-league/dc-delhi-capitals/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Delhi Capitals</a>. A side blessed with exuberant talent, the Delhi Capitals are currently placed at the top of the points table having won 6 out of the 8 matches that they have played.
Their batting lineup is firing, their bowlers have delivered the job, and surely the Delhi Capitals are the favorites to win the IPL this year. And, the Delhi side produced an excellent performance in the 13th IPL edition that was held in the UAE as well. They were the runners-up in the 2020 IPL season.
When the IPL resumes this year, the likes of Marcus Stoinis, Steve Smith, and Shimron Hetmyer are also available. Shreyas Iyer has also returned after recovering from injury but will play under Rishabh Pant’s leadership only.
Delhi Capitals has a strong contingent that will fly to the UAE for the remainder of the IPL. It has also been announced that the remainder of the 2021 IPL edition will be commencing on September 19.
When the 2021 edition of the IPL was suspended, the Delhi Capitals (DC) side was occupying the top place in the points table after emerging triumphant in 6 out of the 8 matches that they played. The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) sides were occupying the 2nd and 3rd places respectively at the time of suspension.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad side looked clueless and was stationed at the last place in the points table, having won just one out of the 7 matches that they had played. And, when the tournament shifts to the UAE, the dynamics will change, and players will have to make adjustments to their game to emerge successful in the UAE.
And, going by what transpired in the 13th edition of the IPL in the UAE, the standings of the teams in the 14th IPL season might vary by the time the league stage comes to a close. In this article, let us predict the position of each of the IPL teams at the end of the league stage this year.
<h3>8. Rajasthan Royals (RR)</h3>

Another thing to note here is, several players from England have pulled out for various reasons. In Jos Buttler&#8217;s absence, Evin Lewis is a player of vital importance for the Rajasthan side. The franchise has also signed a few other replacements for the likes of Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer.
Also, the Rajasthan side finished at 8th place in the points table in the 2020 edition of the IPL that was held in the UAE and could win only 6 out of their 14 matches last year. So, it will not be easy for the Rajasthan side when the second half of the tournament gets underway in the UAE. And, the ‘Men in Pink’ might end the 2021 IPL season at the last place.

Clueless. Well, that is the word that will describe the state of the <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/t20/ipl-indian-premier-league/srh-sunrisers-hyderabad/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sunrisers Hyderabad</a> (SRH) side in the 2021 season of the IPL. The ‘Orange Army’ lost a few matches from seemingly comfortable positions this year, and failed to hold their nerve at crucial phases of a match. And they also removed David Warner as the captain of the side and replaced him with New Zealand legend Kane Williamson.
In fact, such was the abysmal performance of the Hyderabad side this year, that they lost 6 out of the 7 matches that they played. In the 13th IPL edition last year in the UAE, the Hyderabad outfit performed brilliantly and finished the tournament at 3rd place.
And, one of the main reasons for SRH’s success last year was David Warner. He scored 548 runs in the 13th IPL edition at an average of close to 40 and was also a wonderful leader as well. With Jonny Bairstow pulling out, David Warner should be back in the playing XI but that doesn&#8217;t solve their problems entirely.
SRH can still hope that things will get slightly better if the tournament shifts to the UAE. They performed exceedingly well last year and posted 7 wins in the league stage. Even though they are almost out of the Playoffs race, the Hyderabad side will look to post a few wins, and will most likely end the tournament at 7th place.
<h3>6. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)</h3>

The Kolkata side has experienced a poor run in the 2021 edition of the IPL thus far and is currently placed at 7th place in the table, having lost 5 out of the 7 matches that it has played.
In the 2020 IPL season that was held in the UAE, the Kolkata outfit finished at 5th place in the points table and won 7 out of the 14 matches that they contested in. Eoin Morgan is available for the second leg which is a good news for the franchise. KKR will miss their talisman pacer Pat Cummins who has opted to not travel to the UAE.
KKR coach Brendon McCullum admitted that the team played with a little bit of fear in the first leg which affected their performance on the field. But with not much time left for them, even a brilliant show might not help them qualify for the playoffs. 
<h3>5. Punjab Kings (PBKS)</h3>

The Punjab outfit could emerge triumphant in only 3 out of the 8 matches that they played in the tournament, and are placed 6th at the time of suspension.
Now, the Punjab side neither stands to gain nor does it stand to lose too much as well, if the tournament shifts to the UAE. The side produced an average performance last year in the UAE and finished at 6th place in the points table.
Another thing is, the Punjab side do not have the services of Dawid Malan, Number 1 T20I batsman, as he pulled out of the second leg due to the bubble fatigue. They will also miss Jhye Richardson and Riley Meredith even as the franchise has announced replacements for them. Punjab is likely to end the 2021 IPL season at 5th place.
<h3>4. Chennai Super Kings (CSK)</h3>

The MS Dhoni-led side won 5 out of the 7 matches that they played in the 14th IPL season at the time of suspension, and are comfortably placed at the 2nd place in the points table.
But then, the tournament moving to the UAE might not do too much good to the CSK side. The ‘Men in Yellow’ looked out of sorts last year in the UAE and finished at 7th place in the points table. The CSK batsmen struggled on the slow and low tracks that were on offer in the UAE last year.
Also, Moeen Ali and Sam Curran might not be available for the playoffs as they are expected to be available for the Pakistan tour. Ali performed exceedingly well with both bat and ball and was one of the key reasons for CSK’s success in IPL 2021. Sam Curran too, was excellent with the ball for the ‘Yellow Brigade’.
However, due to their blistering start to the 2021 IPL edition, MS Dhoni and his men will still make it to the playoffs this year. They are most likely to finish the tournament at 4th place.
<h3>3. Mumbai Indians (MI)</h3>

However, they can take inspiration from their marvelous performance in the previous IPL edition when the second half of the IPL commences in the UAE.
The Mumbai side is one that is filled with match-winners, as the likes of Quinton De Kock, Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, and Suryakumar Yadav are capable of destroying the opponents.
