4. Chennai Super Kings (CSK)

The Chennai Super Kings roared back to form in the 2021 season of the IPL after their abysmal run in the 2020 edition of the tournament. The MS Dhoni-led side won 5 out of the 7 matches that they played in the 14th IPL season at the time of suspension, and are comfortably placed at the 2nd place in the points table.

But then, the tournament moving to the UAE might not do too much good to the CSK side. The ‘Men in Yellow’ looked out of sorts last year in the UAE and finished at 7th place in the points table. The CSK batsmen struggled on the slow and low tracks that were on offer in the UAE last year.

Also, Moeen Ali and Sam Curran might not be available for the playoffs as they are expected to be available for the Pakistan tour. Ali performed exceedingly well with both bat and ball and was one of the key reasons for CSK’s success in IPL 2021. Sam Curran too, was excellent with the ball for the ‘Yellow Brigade’.

However, due to their blistering start to the 2021 IPL edition, MS Dhoni and his men will still make it to the playoffs this year. They are most likely to finish the tournament at 4th place.
