Scott Kuggeleijn has played in the IPL before

Scott Kuggeleijn has earlier played in the Indian Premier League (IPL). In the year 2019, the New Zealand willow wielder was a part of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) side. He was a part of the CSK playing XI in 2 matches in the 12th edition of the IPL. Kuggeleijn is yet to score a run in IPL cricket. He has taken a couple of wickets with the ball in the IPL.

The Mumbai Indians (MI) have surely not experienced an ideal start to their 2021 IPL campaign. The Rohit Sharma led side has lost 3 out of the 5 matches that they have played thus far in the tournament, and are now occupying 4th place in the points table. The five-time IPL champions have also lost the last 2 matches that they have played.

In their previous IPL encounter against the Punjab Kings (PBKS), the Mumbai Indians side fell short in every department of the game. The Mumbai side could only muster a total of 131/6 on the board. In reply, the Punjab Kings (PBKS) walloped the Rohit Sharma led side with 9 wickets to spare. KL Rahul and Chris Gayle were the architects of Punjab’s victory with the bat in hand. While Rahul scored 60*, Gayle scored a handy 43*.

Scott Kuggeleijn has also played 16 T20I for New Zealand. The right-handed batsman has scored 79 runs for the Black Caps and has scored his runs at an average of 19.75 and at a strike rate of 213.51.

The Mumbai Indians will next take on the Rajasthan Royals (RR) on 29th April 2021 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
