Mumbai Indians have a young and capable Indian bowler in their ranks. Mayank Markande is a talented bowler capable of taking wickets at crucial junctures. He has performed reasonably well in the past. However, he has not been given a chance in playing XI so far in the tournament.

He had a decent record in the 2018 edition of the Indian Premier League, picking up 15 wickets in that edition at an economy rate of 8.36 runs per over. He played for Mumbai Indians in that edition as well and bowled quite well for the team. However, he has not been given enough chance by his previous team(Rajasthan Royals) in the following two editions. This has restricted him from proving his metal in the cash-rich league

He was bought again by the Mumbai Indians in the 2022 mega auction for INR 65 lacs. He is a talented Indian bowler who is capable of taking crucial wickets with his leg-break bowling. He should be given a chance as MI needs to shuffle their bowling line-up which is struggling in the tournament so far. His inclusion in the squad can prove to be fruitful as he is capable of providing the team with vital breakthroughs.
