IPL 2022: 3 Changes MI need to make for their game against PBKS
For the first time in the IPL, MI played with just two overseas players against RCB.
3. Playing Tim David in place of Dewald Brevis
If MI plays with five genuine bowlers then the management would also prefer having six proper batters. If Suryakumar Yadav elevates at number three then Tim David can smoothly replace Dewald Brevis. Additionally, as a bonafide lower middle-order cricketer, David can bat at either fifth or sixth position.
Barring this, the Mumbai batting order will also be cautious about their approach in the middle overs. They will also have a face-off against Punjab’s best bowler-Rahul Chahar. The former MI leg-spinner has been the leading wicket-taker in the PBKS camp. So far the 22-year old has also provided crucial game-changing breakthroughs.
Tim David also exhibits better credentials against spin. Since April 2019, the batter carries a strike rate of nearly 152 against spinners in the T20s. Comprehensively even against the bleak bowling of Odean Smith, David can tonk big sixes in the stands. Overall, against Punjab, Mumbai will be striving to finally secure a win in IPL 2022.
