PBKS in IPL 2022 has made admirable headlines for their explosive batting. Their top four including Jonny Bairstow are certainly behemoths who like scoring rapidly. Adding to that, Livingstone’s scorching form has allowed Punjab to even post giant totals. That’s why with MI already enduring woefulness in their bowling, they must play with five genuine bowlers.

In such a scenario, Mumbai can drop Basil Thampi and add Riley Meredith for his express pace. The Aussie can rattle the PBKS batters much like how Umesh Yadav did for KKR. Also in place of Ramandeep, Tymal Mills can make a strong comeback. So far, the England pacer has been MI’s highest wicket-taker who can continue providing breakthroughs. Particularly in the middle overs, Mills has scalped big names like Andre Russell, Rishabh Pant and Devdutt Padikkal.

Overall, such changes also allow MI to fully play with its gun pacers. Especially Bumrah, Meredith and Mills are the three quicks who can challenge PBKS’s herculean batting. The trio is also well equipped to defend themselves with yorkers and variations even on flat pitches. In case the wickets are two-paced, then this bowling line-up must bowl out the Kings at a reasonable total.
