Sunrisers Hyderabad have secured a fine momentum in the IPL 2022 after two consecutive victories over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT). They now have two wins in four league matches and are holding the eighth position in the points table.

However, the team has suffered a major setback due to the hand injury of all-rounder Washington Sundar, who is expected to be out of action for at least a week. Sundar, who suffered a split webbing in his bowling hand, featured in the match against Gujarat Titans on Monday (April 11) and returned with figures of 0/14 off three overs, and could not complete his full quota of overs due to the injury.

In four appearances in the tournament, Sundar has garnered 58 runs and picked four wickets, and certainly had an influence in both departments of the game. In the SRH playing XI, he was the only key spinner along with Aiden Markram. filling the boots only in crucial situations.

1. Shreyas Gopal

Gopal’s best-ever performance came in the 2019 edition for RR, where he scalped a total of 20 wickets in 14 matches at an economy of 7.22, including a hat-trick against Royal Challengers (RCB) with key scalps of Virat Kohli, Ab de Villiers, and Marcus Stoinis. In that season, he also contributed with 63 runs, with the highest score of 19*.

In the 2020 edition, Gopal was average with 10 wickets in 14 matches. However, Gopal has been in fine form in the domestic circuit, where he scalped 11 wickets in three matches for the Karanakata team in the Ranji Trophy and can be given an opportunity to showcase his talent.
