The left-arm spinner featured in a total of four games combined in 2016, 2019, and 2021 editions of the tournament, and picked up two wickets. However, he was impressive in the 2015 edition of the MI team, where he bagged 10 wickets in 13 appearances, and was one of the key reasons for the team reaching the finals and ultimately winning their second title.

Although he hasn’t got enough chances in the last few editions, he has proved himself in domestic cricket. In the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021/22, Suchith finished with seven wickets in five matches for Karnataka at an economy of 3.52. In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021/22, he picked up six wickets in seven appearances and also contributed with 37 runs.

He can surely be a possible candidate for replacing Sundar due to his experience in the IPL over the years, and current form in the domestic circuit.
