IPL 2022: 3 Teams that are likely to have a new captain in 2023 season
A couple of franchises might consider appointing a new skipper for the next season.
3) Chennai Super Kings
MS Dhoni handed over the captaincy duties to Indian all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja, just before IPL 2022. However, after a string of losses in the early half of the season, Jadeja decided to step down from captaincy. As a result, MS Dhoni was back as the skipper of Chennai Super Kings, a side whom he has led to four IPL titles.
The Men in Yellow had a shocking season, as they finished ninth on the points tally with just four wins to their name. Although MS Dhoni has stated that he will play for at least another year, there remains a reasonable amount of doubt about him leading the side next year.
Chennai Super Kings will have to start looking for options in the auction next season, given that they are most likely to keep Ravindra Jadeja away from captaincy duties.
