The Aussie all-rounder Marcus Stoinis joined the LSG squad late after fulfilling his international duties. He has been performing well with both the bat and ball so far in the tournament. He scored some crucial runs in the match against RCB when the top-order of LSG faced a collapse.

In that match, Stoinis faced a contentious wide ball from Josh Hazlewood as he bowled the ball outside the tramline. However, it was not declared wide by the on-field umpire. The umpire stated that the ball was within the reach of Stoinis as he shuffled a bit. He looked disappointed but slid the decision with a smile. However, he lost his cool and looked in rage when his stumps were shattered on the next ball from his compatriot as he was trying to hit a shot behind the wickets.

LSG lost the match as the wicket of Stoinis proved to be the turning point. The contentious wide-ball decision in that match sparked many controversies on social media. Stoinis looked frustrated with the decision as he left the ground in rage.
