The man who had never been dropped ever since he made his international debut was dropped out of nowhere just ahead of the T20 World Cup in the UAE in 2021. To add insult to injury, Yuzvendra Chahal was not even retained by his beloved RCB franchise ahead of the mega auctions in 2022. Chahal was quiet and bowled a googly to dismiss all of his doubters and critics with his performance in IPL 2022.

The proud owner of the “Purple Cap”, Yuzvendra Chahal, has shown the selectors and BCCI that he is the best leg-spinner in the current Indian setup. With 26 wickets in 14 innings, Yuzi stands tall above every other bowler who has bowled in the IPL 2022 so far. T20 is a format dominated by wrist spinners, and India’s best wrist spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal, has announced his comeback in some fashion.

Such worthy performances have earned him a call-up in the South Africa series. For a man of Yuzi’s class, a mere series against South Africa won’t satisfy his hunger, as his ultimate goal will be to represent India in the T20 World Cup in 2022 in Australia. The big grounds of Australia would further assist the “Chalak, Chanchal, Chatur” Chahal, who can use his variations to good effect on bigger grounds. The resurgence of “Kul-Cha” can wreak havoc amongst the opposition batters in a matter of a few overs.
