IPL 2022: 5 key Indian players who are injured
Injuries are unavoidable in sports hence IPL teams strive to provide the finest medical care to their players
5. T. Natarajan
Natarajan has spent more time on the bench than on the field since his fairy-tale tour of Australia. His knee ailment flared up during the first leg of the IPL 2021, cutting his tenure short. Then he tested positive for Covid-19 just as he was about to return to action for the UAE leg.
Natarajan was part of the Tamil Nadu team that successfully defended the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 title last year. But his body failed to cope with the match intensity after his knee problems and suffering from Covid-19. As a result, he could not compete in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, which was held in December.
After overcoming injury setbacks, Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer has recovered some confidence in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. With 17 wickets from nine matches, Natarajan is currently the season’s fifth-highest wicket-taker. Gavaskar praised the left-arm pacer for putting in the hard work. He said that Natarajan is ready to return to the Indian cricket team. Natarajan shone for SRH in their win over Royal Challengers Bangalore earlier in the season, prompting his comments. But Natrajan’s knee injury has resurfaced forcing him to miss SRH’s last two games.
