Another hard-hitting all-rounder from West Indies, Rovman Powell was sold for a massive amount in this year’s auction. Rovman Powell was acquired by the Delhi Capitals for a whopping price of INR 2.80 cr. Powell grabbed eyeballs with his hard-hitting abilities when West Indies toured India earlier this year.

However, he has failed to live up to the expectations of his team. The 28-year-old all-rounder has amassed only 31 runs in four appearances, with the best score of 20. His dismal show in the middle order has hurt Delhi Capitals, who have failed to capitalise on the good start provided by Prithvi Shaw and David Warner.

Besides, has also proved to be ineffective with the ball, conceding plenty of runs. He has remained wicketless and has given runs at an economy rate of 17 runs per over. Powell has to perform well with both bat and ball on a consistent basis if Delhi Capital want to keep themselves in the race for the IPL 2022 playoffs.
