IPL 2022: 5 Players who can make it to their national side with their IPL Performances
A handful of players are in contention to earn a call up to their national side.
4. Shimron Hetmyer
Shimron Hetmyer was left out of the West Indian squad for the series against India, owing to fitness concerns. The left-handed batter failed to perform at his true potential for the last couple of years, especially in T20I Cricket. However, IPL 2022 might just be a blessing in disguise for the southpaw.
The West Indian batter has scored 291 runs in 11 matches at an average of 72.75, and a strike rate of over 166. The former Delhi Capitals batter has played the role of a finisher for Rajasthan Royals and has rarely disappointed this season.
Shimron Hetmyer will certainly make a comeback to the West Indian national side owing to his successful IPL 2022 outing. Moreover, Kieron Pollard’s retirement has left a huge hole in the West Indian middle order. With the quality he possesses, Hetmyer can easily fill in that gap. Now, it remains to be seen if Hetmyer can keep up with his good performances on a consistent basis.
