Rajasthan Royals have been mighty impressive this season, be it their batting or bowling, everything has clicked to their advantage and that has eventually helped them reach the finals of IPL 2022. One of the key figures in their playing XI has been the aggressive West Indies left-handed batter Shimron Hetmyer. He has improved his game a great deal. He was someone who could contribute those quick runs against spin and pace in the middle order but this time around he has made sure that he crosses the finishing line for his team.

In this edition of IPL, he has scored a total of 303 runs with an outstanding average of 50.50 and a healthy strike rate of 157.81. He was bagged by Rajasthan Royals for a price of INR 8.5 cr and this price tag has been truly justified by Shimron Hetmyer with his exceptional finishing abilities. Although he has scored only one half-century knock of 59*, his finishing-cameos of 31 of 16 balls, 27 of 13 balls, and 29 of 17 balls have made a huge impact for the Rajasthan Royals

Upfront it has been the ‘Jos Buttler Show’ but sometimes when it came down to the crunch moments, it was Shimron Hetmyer who made sure that RR crossed that finishing line in most of those matches. Shimron Hetmyer was not seen as a reliable finisher a few years back but now he has cemented his position as a middle-order batsman and a dependable finisher for the Rajasthan Royals as well as for his national side – West Indies. He has certainly emerged as one of the best finishers in T20 cricket.
