5. Harshal Patel
Harshal Patel is not a bowler who can bowl at a speed of 140 kph. Slower bouncers, variations in yorkers and cutters are some of his key deliveries through which he can beat any batter. The 31-year-old has emerged as a death bowler specialist in the last two years for RCB and India.
The 2021 Purple Cap winner started IPL 2022 from where he left off last season. The right-arm medium-pacer has been in good rhythm so far in IPL 2022. In five matches, he has managed to pick up 6 wickets at an economy of 6.40 runs per over. His best performance of the season came against KKR, where the Haryana player bowled a phenomenal spell of 2/11 from four overs.
Patel’s successful outing in the 2021 IPL season was rewarded him with a maiden call-up for India for the T20 series against New Zealand. On his debut, he was awarded the Player of the Match award against New Zealand for taking two wickets at an economy of 6.25. His IPL performance presented a strong case for him to be a part of Team India in the 2022 T20 WC.
