Tim Southee was another bargain pick from Kolkata&#8217;s perspective. The Kiwi pacer has 12 wickets to his name in just seven games, at an average of 16.25. Again, KKR acquired his services at a base price of INR 1.50 cr at the mega auction earlier this year.
Southee was impressive in his first few outings for his new franchise but was dropped out of the side after Pat Cummins&#8217; arrival. However, the veteran Kiwi pacer got another opportunity after a couple of games. He has picked a wicket in each of the last three games. Against Mumbai Indians, Southee picked up the crucial wicket of <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/mi-vs-kkr-rohit-sharma-walks-back-disappointed-after-controversial-dismissal/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rohit Sharma</a> in only the first over and conceded just 10 runs in his three-over spell.
Tim Southee will hope to keep up the good for his franchise in the remaining matches. Kolkata has not had the best of seasons this year, but they have still made some smart moves at the auction.
