Abdul Samad is an interesting prospect from the territory of Kashmir, and has become a talking point after his retention by Sunrisers Hyderabad. The 20-year-old middle-order batter can also bowl some leg spin.

Samad has been playing the league for two years. He was picked by Sunrisers Hyderabad for the 2020’s season. The youngster showcased his hard-hitting capability in the first few matches itself and had an average and strike rate of 22.5 and 170.06 respectively. He has played 23 IPL matches and has scored 111 runs each in both seasons.

The explosive batter has an impressive career strike rate of 146.05. He has the highest score of 33 and is yet to make an impact. But he was retained for a sum of INR 4 crores in the auction ahead of their star powers. Being an uncapped player and considering his performances, he would have got only a lesser price in the auction.
