4. Mohammed Siraj
Mohammed Siraj is the recently blossomed player of the Indian contingent. His life changed after he was picked by the stalwart Virat Kohli in Royal Challenger’s Bangalore squad in 2018. Step by step, Siraj has improved and emerged to be their key-bowler. He has been retained by RCB ahead of their star performer Harshal Patel for a price of INR 7 crores.
The pacer debuted for Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2017 and was signed by Bangalore later. He was an expensive bowler and didn’t take many wickets at first. His economy improved year by year and it went from 9.55 in 2019 to 6.78 in 2021. In 50 IPL matches, he has grabbed 50 wickets and has an average of 28.74.
The 27-year-old player became the first bowler to bowl back-to-back maiden overs in the history of IPL in 2020 and he also took a hat-trick that season. He climbed through the ladder and went on to represent the Indian team. But considering his wicket-taking abilities, he is lagging at that part and hence he could have been bought in the auction for a lesser price.
