IPL 2022: 5 Unsold overseas players who can come in as replacements
Out of the 600 shortlisted players, only 204 players attracted bids.
4. Andrew Tye
The Australian seamer Andrew Tye is definitely not a bad player to go unnoticed in the IPL auction. His records are amazing, yet it has not gone his way this time. He started off his IPL journey in 2017 for Gujarat Lions with an outstanding debut, where he took a five-wicket haul which included a hat-trick.
Tye’s following year with Kings XI Punjab was also remarkable, as he became the first-ever player to take three 4-wicket hauls in a single season of the IPL. He also became the purple-cap holder with most wickets in that season. But unfortunately, he couldn’t perform well the next year and hence was transferred to Rajasthan Royals in 2020.
Tye just played a match in 2020 where he gave away 50 runs in just four overs and in 2021, he withdrew himself from the IPL. Tye has played 27 IPL matches and has grabbed 40 wickets with an economy of 8.47. He has plenty of variations and explicit yorkers. He would definitely get a chance if any player gets injured.
