5. Tabraiz Shamsi
Tabraiz Shamsi is currently the ICC number one ranked T20I bowler. He became the highest wicket-taker in T20Is in a calendar year in 2021. He was first roped into Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2016 as a replacement for injured Samuel Badree.
Shamsi then played four matches that year and took three wickets with an expensive economy of 9.18. After that, he did not play any IPL matches until 2021 when Rajasthan Royals picked him as a replacement for Andrew Tye.
This Proteas leggie just played a match that year and wasn’t effective as he was in the International matches. He enrolled in this year’s IPL auction with a base price of just INR 1 crore but he remained unsold. But Shamsi has always come into the IPL through the second door as a replacement, and he is in peak form lately. Hence we could expect him to feature this season as a replacement.
