IPL 2022: Best Indian XI from the seventh week
Seven teams are still in contention for the remaining three spots in the playoffs.
6. MS Dhoni (wk & c) (CSK)
Dhoni is one of the very few stalwarts of the game that is continuing to bat to his stature this season. While openers like Virat and Rohit have failed, Dhoni coming late after four to five wickets down is still proving to be the best finisher of the game. After the impromptu shift of captaincy, Mahi’s form still continues like before.
He has remained unbeaten on several occasions this season which has considerably helped CSK with those extra runs at the death. Even this week he shined as a captain and a finisher. His quick cameo of 21 runs off eight balls took CSK’s target to 208 against DC. He also took two catches behind the stumps in that match.
In another clash against Mumbai Indians, CSK’s batting lineup collapsed brutally. Dhoni managed to remain not out till the end but did not get enough support from the other end. He scored 36 runs off 33 balls in a total of 97 runs.
