The dependable middle-order batter from South Africa is relatively new to IPL, despite being around the international circuit for nearly five years. This week, his side couldn’t get over the line in both the matches they played. His performances, however, shone brightly and proved his mettle as a solid batsman.

In the game against CSK, SRH was chasing over 200, and Markram could only manage to hit two sixes as he got out on 17. However, it was against the Delhi Capitals (DC) where he played a momentum-changing knock. Again chasing 200-plus, he came to bat when both the openers were back in the hut.

However, Markram was not going to go down without a fight. He blazed his way to a 25-ball 42, consisting of three sixes and four fours. SRH were looking well on their way to a massive defeat, but Markram’s innings swung the momentum in their way, and even after he got out to Khaleel’s slower delivery, Pooran took over the mantle to bring his side closer to the target.
