IPL 2022: Best Overseas XI from the sixth week
These overseas players have been the highlight of this week.
5. Nicholas Pooran (wk)
The newly appointed limited-overs skipper of the West Indies had a week to remember. In both of the matches that he played, Pooran waged a lone battle chasing massive scores. He and Aiden Markram have been the silver lining for SRH in an otherwise disappointing week.
Against CSK, he was unbeaten till the end as he scored 64*(33), which included three fours and six massive sixes. Against DC, he played a similar inning of 62(34), but this innings gave the opposition a real scare. Again chasing a big score, his lusty blows kept SRH in the game. Only when he holed out to a full toss against Shardul, did the DC captain breathe a sigh of relief.
Pooran had a less than ordinary IPL last year, registering a string of single-digit scores. Still, he managed to break the bank at the auctions this year. His performances this season have backed the faith shown in him at the auctions. Solid behind the stumps, he has been chosen to keep wickets for this side as well.
