Trent Boult was bought in the IPL 2022 mega auction for INR 8 Crore from the marquee set after an intense bidding war against the Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians. <p>Trent Boult was bought in the IPL 2022 mega auction for INR 8 Crore from the marquee set after an intense bidding war against the Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians. The New Zealander was a crucial member of the successful campaigns for <strong><a href="https://www.crictracker.com/one-of-the-worst-auctions-they-ever-had-brad-hogg-baffled-with-mumbai-indians-strategy-at-ipl-2022-mega-auction/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mumbai Indians</a></strong> in the IPL 2019 and 2020 seasons.</p>
<p>The left-arm seamer can hit 140 Kmph at times and likes to swing it both ways with the new ball, especially is very dangerous against the left-hand batters. The 32-year-old has a lot of IPL experience under his belt now and has taken 76 wickets in 62 IPL games so far at an economy rate of 8.39.</p>
<p>Boult is also very effective at the death with his ability to hit the yorkers and is one of the seasoned campaigners going around. He picked up 13 wickets in 14 IPL games last season which was one of his lowest productive years and will be looking to better the record this time around.</p>

The 25-year-old was in and out of the Kolkata XI last year but is likely to get an extended run with the Rajasthan Royals.</p>
<p>The Karnataka pacer has grown leaps and bounds in the last two years and will have an important role to play alongside Boult from the other end. He picked up 12 wickets in 10 games last season and has the knack of picking up wickets in the middle overs which will be crucial to his franchise.</p>

<p>Chahal had an on and off-season last time as he struggled to pick up wickets in the first phase of IPL 2021 but returned like a champion by finishing with 18 wickets in 15 games overall. He bowled some extraordinary deliveries and is one of the best in the business in getting the big hitters dismissed.</p>
<p>The 31-year-old has been relatively economical as well and gives the ball a lot of air. Chahal’s experience in IPL and in the international circuit will give him a big edge over the other spinners.</p>

<p>Rajasthan Royals did a good job in terms of building up a strong foundation in the IPL 2022 mega auction by backing youngsters and they went on to rope in some amazing talents like Devdutt Padikkal, Prasidh Krishna and many more. Picking Ravichandran Ashwin and Trent Boult from the marquee set has given solidity to their bowling lineup that looked vacant at the start.</p>
<p>The Royals retained the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal as their uncapped player for INR 4 Crore and capped players Sanju Samson (INR 14 Crore) and Jos Buttler (INR 10 Crore) were retained as expected. The addition of Shimron Hetmyer will deal with the finisher&#8217;s role and Kumar Sangakkara has been spot on so far as the director of the side.</p>
<p>Royals ensured that they added some quality Indian contingent to their table as over the years they have been an overseas dependent side for a long time and the change in strategy is expected to do them a world of good. It was one of the wisest moves from the franchise to retain the 20-year-old considering his potential and the future of the side.</p>
<p>Jaiswal played ten games last year scoring 249 runs and he had a brilliant strike rate of 148 which was one of the turning points. He showed a lot of intent towards the back end of the tournament and the same would be expected this year as well at the top of the order for the franchise.</p>

<p>With the opening spot occupied by Jaiswal, Padikkal might have to move to number three for the Royals and it will certainly be a test of the versatility of the batter. <p>The 35-year-old is a handy batter down the order and has a career economy rate of under seven in 167 IPL games which is incredible considering he is an off-spinner. Ashwin has a lot of variations as well and his carrom balls have always been one of his productive ones.</p>
<h3>9. Trent Boult</h3>

<p>Trent Boult was bought in the IPL 2022 mega auction for INR 8 Crore from the marquee set after an intense bidding war against the Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians. The New Zealander was a crucial member of the successful campaigns for <strong><a href="https://www.crictracker.com/one-of-the-worst-auctions-they-ever-had-brad-hogg-baffled-with-mumbai-indians-strategy-at-ipl-2022-mega-auction/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mumbai Indians</a></strong> in the IPL 2019 and 2020 seasons.</p>
<p>The left-arm seamer can hit 140 Kmph at times and likes to swing it both ways with the new ball, especially is very dangerous against the left-hand batters. The 32-year-old has a lot of IPL experience under his belt now and has taken 76 wickets in 62 IPL games so far at an economy rate of 8.39.</p>
<p>Boult is also very effective at the death with his ability to hit the yorkers and is one of the seasoned campaigners going around. He picked up 13 wickets in 14 IPL games last season which was one of his lowest productive years and will be looking to better the record this time around.</p>
<h3>10. Prasidh Krishna</h3>

<p><strong><a href="https://www.crictracker.com/i-want-to-see-prasidh-krishna-play-t20-wc-in-australia-harbhajan-singh/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Prasidh Krishna</a></strong> was one of the expensive buys for the Royals in the IPL 2022 mega auction and fetched INR 10 Crores after the bidding war between RR, Lucknow Super Giants and the Gujarat Titans. The Indian quick has been in really good form of late with some outstanding spells against West Indies in the 50 over format.</p>
<p>Krishna is pretty much young still and has a lot to offer to a side like the Rajasthan Royals. He has the raw pace which is one of the demanded commodities in the cash-rich tournament. The 25-year-old was in and out of the Kolkata XI last year but is likely to get an extended run with the Rajasthan Royals.</p>
<p>The Karnataka pacer has grown leaps and bounds in the last two years and will have an important role to play alongside Boult from the other end. He picked up 12 wickets in 10 games last season and has the knack of picking up wickets in the middle overs which will be crucial to his franchise.</p>
<h3>11. Yuzvendra Chahal</h3>

<p><strong><a href="https://www.crictracker.com/achi-banegi-humari-rajasthan-royals-share-hilarious-chat-with-yuzvendra-chahal/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Yuzvendra Chahal</a></strong> was picked up for a price of INR 6.5 Crores in the IPL 2022 mega auction and is a match-winner on his own with the ball. The leg spinner has been a great servant for the Royal Challengers Bangalore for a long time and it was surprising to see RCB not retaining and even not bidding for him.</p>
<p>Chahal had an on and off-season last time as he struggled to pick up wickets in the first phase of IPL 2021 but returned like a champion by finishing with 18 wickets in 15 games overall. He bowled some extraordinary deliveries and is one of the best in the business in getting the big hitters dismissed.</p>
<p>The 31-year-old has been relatively economical as well and gives the ball a lot of air. Chahal&#8217;s experience in IPL and in the international circuit will give him a big edge over the other spinners.</p>
