2. Jos Buttler
The batter of the tournament this year had to be Jos Buttler, as he made a merry of the bowling attacks and almost hit centuries for fun. The Englishman was retained by the Rajasthan Royals ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction this year, and he proved high time that he is more than just a match-winner. The right-hander had a terrific start to the tournament and was looking like Virat Kohli‘s 973 run record was under threat, going with the pace Buttler was playing. Despite a stunning start to the tournament, Buttler entered a tough phase, where he wasn’t among the runs for around five games and it ensured that Buttler was not going to break Kohli’s record. However, towards the end of the tournament, Buttler seemed to have got his golden touch and he produced some breath-taking innings to help RR reach the finals. He finished with 863 runs in 17 games at an average of 57.53 and a strike rate of 149.05. He scored four centuries and four half-centuries and bagged the Orange Cap as well.
