With several overseas players joining back their respective franchises, the second week of <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.crictracker.com/ipl-2022-predicting-where-each-team-will-end-up-on-the-points-table/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">IPL 2022</a> was a much more exciting affair. These are still the initial days of the two-month-long tournament, and with how the first two weeks have gone by, the 15th edition of IPL promises to be like none other.

The likes of Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans were among the biggest winners from the second week, whereas, the misery continued for Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians.

So far, several Indian youngsters have grabbed the limelight away from the reputed overseas stars. A few big guns are yet to fire this season, which has been the primary reason for their respective team&#8217;s poor start to the season.

Here&#8217;s a look at Flop Overseas XI from the second week of the tournament:

1. Matthew Wade

Matthew Wade has vastly underperformed for Gujarat Titans in week two of the Indian Premier League. The southpaw was dismissed for just one run against the Delhi Capitals, and things did not look too good against Punjab Kings either. The Australian batter could manage to score just 6 runs off 7 deliveries before he was sent back to the pavilion by Kagiso Rabada.

Even Wriddhiman Saha can bat at the top of the order for the Titans, given that he did the same for Sunrisers Hyderabad over the years.

Tim Seifert carries a reputation of being a dynamic batter, who can score runs all-round the part. The Kiwi batter was allowed to open the batting for <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.crictracker.com/ipl-2022-flop-overseas-xi-after-first-week-of-the-tournament/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Delhi Capitals</a>, whilst, David Warner was still to join the camp. Seifert failed to impress in his second outing against Gujarat Titans, being dismissed for just three runs, facing five deliveries. With someone of Warner&#8217;s caliber back into the starting lineup, it will be difficult for the Kiwi batter to reclaim his spot in the playing 11.

However, the IPL is a long tournament, and there is always a possibility of an injury. With Rovman Powell misfiring for Delhi Capitals at the moment, Seifert is expected to get another shot, but this time in the middle order. 3. Kane Williamson

Kane Williamson continued to struggle out in the middle for Sunrisers Hyderabad. After scoring two runs against Rajasthan Royals, the Kiwi skipper managed to score just 16 runs against Lucknow Super Giants. Williamson needs to step up with his batting, given that the top order is heavily reliant on how he performs.

The West Indian batter has had two bad outings this week, with single-digit scores against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals. The southpaw was dismissed for just one run against Hyderabad, facing just five deliveries.

He was dismissed for a quickfire knock of 20 runs off 12 balls against Gujarat Titans. The West Indian could have taken his side past the finishing line, given that he was looking comfortable out in the middle. Against Lucknow Super Giants, Rovman was sent at No. 3, after Delhi Capitals were handed a blistering start by Prithvi Shaw.

The stage was set for a big-hitter like him to flourish, however, he was dismissed for just 3 runs off 10 deliveries. Questions have been raised in regards to his place in the starting XI, and with someone like KS Bharat waiting in the wings, Powell must start contributing more often.

8. Daniel Sams

Daniel Sams was brought in by Mumbai Indians as someone who could at least partially replace Kiwi pacer Trent Boult. The Australian left-arm bowler has been vastly unimpressive so far, and he was handed a thrashing by his countryman Pat Cummins a few days ago.

Sams conceded 35 runs in a single over against Cummins, which cost Mumbai Indians their third successive loss. The left-armer was hit for four sixes in the 16th over, as <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.crictracker.com/ipl-2022-which-team-qualified-for-the-playoffs-despite-losing-first-3-matches-of-the-season/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kolkata Knight Riders</a> chased down the total with four overs remaining.

He ended with figures of 1/50 in his three-over spell, despite having a decent start. He picked up the key wicket of Shreyas Iyer after a short ball ploy did the trick. Against Delhi Capitals, he conceded 32 runs in just four overs, without picking up a single wicket. It is high time that Mumbai considers bringing in someone like Riley Meredith or Jaydev Unadkat into their lineup.

9. Odean Smith

Odean Smith proved to be the match-winner in the first game against <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.crictracker.com/ipl-2022-one-player-from-each-team-who-can-make-comeback-to-team-india/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Royal Challengers Bangalore</a>. However, the West Indian has failed to impress in the second week of the tournament. With the bat, he was dismissed for just three runs against Chennai Super Kings and was dismissed without scoring against Gujarat Titans.

He did manage to perform well with the ball against the reigning champions, conceding just 14 runs in his two-over spell, with the crucial wicket of Ambati Rayudu. However, he failed to defend 19 runs in the last over against Gujarat Titans, after he was whacked for two monstrous sixes by Rahul Tewatia in the last two deliveries of the game.

Andrew Tye, the Purple Cap winner of the 2018 IPL edition, failed to pick up a single wicket in his two outings last week. The Australian bowler has a bag of tricks up his sleeve but has failed to come up with the goods so far. The experienced bowler conceded 39 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad, when the other bowlers did a pretty good job, picking up regular wickets.

Tye again went with an economy rate of over nine against Delhi Capitals, as he conceded 28 runs in just three overs, without picking up a single wicket. He was drafted into the playing XI in place of Dushmantha Chameera, who performed pretty well in the first outing against Gujarat Titans. It remains to be seen if Lucknow decides to replace the experienced Aussie bowler with Chameera in their next outing.

11. Anrich Nortje

<a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.crictracker.com/ipl-2022-match-15-10-best-memes-from-lsg-vs-dc-match/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rovman Powell</a> has struggled with the bat in the opening games of IPL 2022. The West Indian all-rounder has not got a chance to make an impact with the ball, but he has failed to deliver when it comes to his batting prowess as well. Powell has been trusted by the Delhi management and has even been promoted to the top of the order, although he is yet to start firing this season.
He was dismissed for a quickfire knock of 20 runs off 12 balls against Gujarat Titans. The West Indian could have taken his side past the finishing line, given that he was looking comfortable out in the middle. Against Lucknow Super Giants, Rovman was sent at No. 3, after Delhi Capitals were handed a blistering start by Prithvi Shaw. 
The stage was set for a big-hitter like him to flourish, however, he was dismissed for just 3 runs off 10 deliveries. Questions have been raised in regards to his place in the starting XI, and with someone like KS Bharat waiting in the wings, Powell must start contributing more often.
<h3>8. Daniel Sams</h3>

Daniel Sams was brought in by Mumbai Indians as someone who could at least partially replace Kiwi pacer Trent Boult. The Australian left-arm bowler has been vastly unimpressive so far, and he was handed a thrashing by his countryman Pat Cummins a few days ago. 
Sams conceded 35 runs in a single over against Cummins, which cost Mumbai Indians their third successive loss. The left-armer was hit for four sixes in the 16th over, as <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.crictracker.com/ipl-2022-which-team-qualified-for-the-playoffs-despite-losing-first-3-matches-of-the-season/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kolkata Knight Riders</a> chased down the total with four overs remaining.
He ended with figures of 1/50 in his three-over spell, despite having a decent start. He picked up the key wicket of Shreyas Iyer after a short ball ploy did the trick. Against Delhi Capitals, he conceded 32 runs in just four overs, without picking up a single wicket. It is high time that Mumbai considers bringing in someone like Riley Meredith or Jaydev Unadkat into their lineup.

Odean Smith proved to be the match-winner in the first game against <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.crictracker.com/ipl-2022-one-player-from-each-team-who-can-make-comeback-to-team-india/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Royal Challengers Bangalore</a>. However, the West Indian has failed to impress in the second week of the tournament. With the bat, he was dismissed for just three runs against Chennai Super Kings and was dismissed without scoring against Gujarat Titans.
He did manage to perform well with the ball against the reigning champions, conceding just 14 runs in his two-over spell, with the crucial wicket of Ambati Rayudu. However, he failed to defend 19 runs in the last over against Gujarat Titans, after he was whacked for two monstrous sixes by Rahul Tewatia in the last two deliveries of the game. 
He conceded 35 runs in his three-over spell, without picking up a single wicket. Punjab Kings might consider bringing in English all-rounder Benny Howell if Smith continues to underperform.
<h3>10. Andrew Tye</h3>

Andrew Tye, the Purple Cap winner of the 2018 IPL edition, failed to pick up a single wicket in his two outings last week. The Australian bowler has a bag of tricks up his sleeve but has failed to come up with the goods so far. The experienced bowler conceded 39 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad, when the other bowlers did a pretty good job, picking up regular wickets.
Tye again went with an economy rate of over nine against Delhi Capitals, as he conceded 28 runs in just three overs, without picking up a single wicket. He was drafted into the playing XI in place of Dushmantha Chameera, who performed pretty well in the first outing against Gujarat Titans. It remains to be seen if Lucknow decides to replace the experienced Aussie bowler with Chameera in their next outing.
<h3>11. Anrich Nortje</h3>

Anrich Nortje was declared fit to get going this week against Lucknow Super Giants. The South African speedster has impressed much in the last two seasons, which was the reason for his retention ahead of teammate, Kagiso Rabada. However, Nortje had a pretty dismal outing in his first game against Lucknow and he conceded 35 runs in just 2.2 overs, without picking up a wicket.
 The Protea pacer looked rusty on his comeback trail, and will only get better as the tournament progresses. Delhi Capitals have now lost two consecutive games, after their victory over Mumbai Indians in their opener. They will look to get back to winning ways, and Anrich Nortje will surely have to play a huge role in that.
