Former Indian captain MS Dhoni left everyone in shock when he decided to quit captaincy of CSK and transfer it to the senior all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. Under Jadeja’s leadership, the team failed to deliver losing the first four matches. In the middle of the season, Jadeja decided to leave captaincy and asked Dhoni to take the responsibility back.

Even under MS Dhoni’s captaincy, the team couldn’t make it to the playoffs and got eliminated from the league stage of IPL 2022. Apart from captaincy, Dhoni also struggled with the bat as he couldn’t score big runs for CSK. Appearing in 13 innings of 14 games CSK played, skipper Dhoni managed only 232 runs with an average of 33.14 including a fifty.

Analyzing both his captaincy and batting, Dhoni can be named as the captain of this playing XI. Although, Dhoni has also hinted his fans and cricket experts regarding his availability next year in IPL 2023
