Andre Russell has been an impact player for Kolkata Knight Riders over the year. The West Indian all-rounder has delivered at crucial junctures of the game this season but failed to take his side past the finishing line against Rajasthan Royals. The stage was set for the big man, with KKR being asked to chase down a massive total of 218 runs.

However, Andre Russell was dismissed for a golden duck, after being deceived in the air by Ravichandran Ashwin. Even with the ball, Russell was pretty expensive, conceding 29 runs in his two-over spell. However, he did manage to pick up the crucial wicket of Rajasthan skipper, Sanju Samson.

The Jamaican-born cricketer is a kind of player who likes to play his natural game, and go for the kill right from ball one. Sadly, that did not work out against the Royals at the Brabourne Stadium.
