After seven weeks, only Gujarat Titans have managed to seal a playoff berth and have more or less guaranteed themselves a top-two finish. As the league enters its final week, as many as seven franchises are still in the hunt to qualify for the knockout stage.

The dead-end of the tournament is when the top players are expected to step up and start performing for their teams. However, the misery has continued for a few star players, who have continued to deliver underwhelming performances. Call it luck or just poor form, nothing seems to be working in their favor at the moment.

Here is a look at the flop XI from the seventh week of IPL 2022:

1. KL Rahul

KL Rahul has been one of the most consistent batters in the Indian Premier League for quite a few seasons now. The Lucknow skipper did not have the best of weeks with the bat, as he managed to score just seven runs in the two outings. Against Kolkata Knight Riders, a miscommunication with Quinton de Kock led to his run out as he departed without even facing a single ball.

It rarely happens that Rahul goes without scoring in two consecutive matches in the IPL. However, that was the case this week as he was again dismissed for just eight runs against Gujarat Titans. He looked edgy out in the middle as Mohammed Shami got the better of him again this season.

Nevertheless, KL Rahul has played his part in Lucknow&#8217;s success in IPL so far, scoring 459 runs in 12 innings at an average of 45.90. The former Punjab Kings batter is second in the Orange Cap List, with two centuries to his name, both of which came against the Mumbai Indians.

2. Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma seems to have no light at the end of the tunnel for him this season, as he has failed to deliver any impactful performance in IPL 2022. In two matches this week, he managed to score just 20 runs as Mumbai Indians had a mixed week, claiming one win and a loss.

Rohit particularly enjoys scoring against Kolkata Knight Riders, but he was dismissed for just two runs. Against Chennai Super Kings, Rohit got off to a decent start, scoring 18 runs off just 14 balls. However, that did not last long, as he was caught behind by MS Dhoni.

Now, with just two matches to spare, Rohit Sharma will be desperate to get back amongst the runs. He is yet to score a half-century this season, as he has often been dismissed in his 20s.

3. Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli is living a sort of a nightmare this season. Nothing seems to be working out for him as the Bangalore batter&#8217;s misery continued in the seventh week of the IPL 2022. Kohli was dismissed again for a golden duck against Sunrisers Hyderabad, after getting deceived early on by Jagadeesha Suchith.

Against Punjab Kings, Kohli looked like his former self as he got off to a flying start. The former Indian skipper smashed 20 runs off 14 balls, which included two boundaries and a maximum. The intent with which he walked out to bat was surely encouraging, and it seemed that he was certainly get a big score.

However, just the way it has been this season, he could not convert his start into a big innings as Kagiso Rabada got the better of the Indian batter. Luck certainly played a factor in his dismissal as the 33-year-old batter walked in disbelief after his dismissal.

Shreyas Iyer is another addition to the list of star Indian batters who have disappointed in week seven of IPL. The Kolkata Knight Riders skipper could manage just 12 runs in two innings last week, with twin scores of six runs against Mumbai and Lucknow.

Against Lucknow, Shreyas walked into bat rather early after Aaron Finch&#8217;s dismissal, and his side needed a big knock from him. However, six runs off nine balls was all he could manage before getting dismissed by Dushmantha Chameera. Kolkata crumbled in the chase and were handed their seventh defeat of the season. Against Mumbai Indians, Iyer could again manage to score just six runs, as he was again caught out on the field.

Kolkata Knight Riders still have a glimmer of hope to reach the playoffs, but for that to happen, Shreyas will certainly need to step up with the bat. The Kolkata skipper has not had a poor season but has not lived up to his expectations either.

5. Aiden Markram

Aiden Markram&#8216;s inclusion in this list could be a harsh decision, given that Sunrisers Hyderabad have played just one game in week seven. The South African batter scored 21 runs off 27 balls against Royal Challengers Bangalore. He walked into bat with the score reading two wickets down for one run in just the first over.

Markram did steady the ship, building a 50-run stand with Rahul Tripathi, however, the middle-order battle lacked the positive intent with which he has batted so far in this season. He was content with singles and hardly made any attempt to go for the big shots.

Eventually, he departed for 21 and Sunrisers Hyderabad went on to face their fourth consecutive defeat. They do have a chance of making it to the playoffs, provided they win all their three games in the final week. Markram will play a key role for his side and he would want to play his natural game, which is counter-attacking the opposition bowlers.

Ambati Rayudu is one of the veterans of IPL, having been associated with Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings since 2010. The Chennai batter could manage just 15 runs in week seven. Against Delhi Capitals, he scored five runs off six balls, and could manage just 10 runs against the Mumbai Indians.

Rayudu was expected to start hitting big from the word go against Delhi, given the situation of the match. Hence, he cannot be blamed too much for that knock. However, a batting collapse against Mumbai Indians gave Rayudu plenty of time to build on his innings and take his side to a respectable total. However, he could not to that.

Moreover, Rayudu&#8217;s mode of dismissal against his former side was rather baffling as he seemed to be caught in two minds before edging the ball to Ishan Kishan, behind the stumps.

7. Rovman Powell

Rovman Powell has been of Delhi Capitals&#8217; consistent performers in the past few weeks. However, he did not contribute much in this week of the tournament. Against Chennai Super Kings, the West Indian was dismissed for just three runs off nine deliveries as Delhi succumbed to a 91-run loss.

The top order got the job done against Rajasthan Royals as Powell was not required to bat. His inclusion is surely debatable given that he has played just one innings, however, at this stage of the competition, one needs to take every chance bestowed upon a player.

Delhi Capitals are in a very fragile position at the moment, and they need to win both their remaining games to have a chance of making it to the playoffs. Powell will certainly be required in the upcoming matches.

8. Ravichandran Ashwin

Ravichandran Ashwin has been ineffective with the ball for the majority of the IPL this year. The Indian off-spinner could manage to pick up just one wicket in the two games in week seven. The Rajasthan spinner conceded 32 runs against Punjab Kings, picking up the wicket of Shikhar Dhawan.

Against Delhi Capitals, the veteran spinner conceded 32 runs again, but this time without picking up a single wicket. However, he did perform with the bat, scoring 50 runs off 38 balls, after being promoted to the number three position.

Talking in terms of his bowling performance, one can argue that he has failed to support Yuzvendra Chahal from the other end, especially when the duo is bowling in tandem.

9. Trent Boult

Trent Boult has not had the best of IPL seasons this year, as he has often been taken to the cleaners. The Kiwi pacer conceded 36 runs in four overs against Punjab Kings without picking up a single wicket. He did bowl a maiden over, but then conceded 18 runs one of his overs.

It was a much better performance against the Delhi Capitals, where he conceded 32 runs in his four-over spell, picking up the wicket of Srikar Bharat in the first over itself. However, the Kiwi left-arm pacer failed to trouble the likes of David Warner and Mitchell Marsh in what proved to be a very comfortable chase for the Capitals.

Trent Boult had a very good start to the IPL, but his form has gradually declined as the tournament has gone on. He will look to get back to his best, given that Rajasthan are yet to qualify for the playoffs.

10. Prasidh Krishna

Prasidh Krishna has exceptional talent but he has been disappointing this season. The Indian pacer was taken to all parts of the ground against Punjab Kings, when he conceded 48 runs in his four-over spell, which included just one wicket. The likes of Jitesh Sharma and Liam Livingstone put the youngster under pressure and pushed the Kings to a good enough total.

Against Delhi Capitals, Krishna bowled just three overs, conceding 20 runs. Again, he failed to put the pressure with the new ball, as he has not been able to pick up wickets upfront. With Navdeep Saini waiting for another opportunity, Prasidh Krishna will surely have pull up his sleeves, and start putting up consistent performances.

Rajasthan Royals started the competition looking as an all-round side, but gaps are slowly starting to creep up as the league stage draws to a close.

11. Fazalhaq Farooqi

Things did not seem to work out in the favor of Sunrisers Hyderabad, hence they decided to hand an <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/t20/ipl-indian-premier-league/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">IPL</a> debut to the Afghanistan left-arm pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi. However, it was not the debut they had wished for as he went for plenty of runs against RCB.

The Afghanistan pacer conceded 47 runs at an economy rate of almost 12. He went wicketless as he was put under pressure by Dinesh Karthik. The pacer conceded as many as 25 runs off the last over, which proved to be the difference-maker.

Trent Boult has not had the best of IPL seasons this year, as he has often been taken to the cleaners. The Kiwi pacer conceded 36 runs in four overs against Punjab Kings without picking up a single wicket. He did bowl a maiden over, but then conceded 18 runs one of his overs.
It was a much better performance against the Delhi Capitals, where he conceded 32 runs in his four-over spell, picking up the wicket of Srikar Bharat in the first over itself. However, the Kiwi left-arm pacer failed to trouble the likes of David Warner and Mitchell Marsh in what proved to be a very comfortable chase for the Capitals.

Prasidh Krishna has exceptional talent but he has been disappointing this season. The Indian pacer was taken to all parts of the ground against Punjab Kings, when he conceded 48 runs in his four-over spell, which included just one wicket. The likes of Jitesh Sharma and Liam Livingstone put the youngster under pressure and pushed the Kings to a good enough total.
Against Delhi Capitals, Krishna bowled just three overs, conceding 20 runs. Again, he failed to put the pressure with the new ball, as he has not been able to pick up wickets upfront. With Navdeep Saini waiting for another opportunity, Prasidh Krishna will surely have pull up his sleeves, and start putting up consistent performances. 
Rajasthan Royals started the competition looking as an all-round side, but gaps are slowly starting to creep up as the league stage draws to a close.

Things did not seem to work out in the favor of Sunrisers Hyderabad, hence they decided to hand an <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/t20/ipl-indian-premier-league/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">IPL</a> debut to the Afghanistan left-arm pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi. However, it was not the debut they had wished for as he went for plenty of runs against RCB.
The Afghanistan pacer conceded 47 runs at an economy rate of almost 12. He went wicketless as he was put under pressure by Dinesh Karthik. The pacer conceded as many as 25 runs off the last over, which proved to be the difference-maker.
Sunrisers Hyderabad’s bowling has been their strong point this season, but it has misfired in the past couple of matches. With the margin for error very narrow for now, Sunrisers Hyderabad will certainly consider bringing in a replacement for Fazalhaq Farooqi.

After seven weeks, only Gujarat Titans have managed to seal a playoff berth and have more or less guaranteed themselves a top-two finish. As the league enters its final week, as many as seven franchises are still in the hunt to qualify for the knockout stage.
The dead-end of the tournament is when the top players are expected to step up and start performing for their teams. However, the misery has continued for a few star players, who have continued to deliver underwhelming performances. Call it luck or just poor form, nothing seems to be working in their favor at the moment.

KL Rahul has been one of the most consistent batters in the Indian Premier League for quite a few seasons now. The Lucknow skipper did not have the best of weeks with the bat, as he managed to score just seven runs in the two outings. Against Kolkata Knight Riders, a miscommunication with Quinton de Kock led to his run out as he departed without even facing a single ball.
It rarely happens that Rahul goes without scoring in two consecutive matches in the IPL. However, that was the case this week as he was again dismissed for just eight runs against Gujarat Titans. He looked edgy out in the middle as Mohammed Shami got the better of him again this season.
Nevertheless, KL Rahul has played his part in Lucknow&#8217;s success in IPL so far, scoring 459 runs in 12 innings at an average of 45.90. The former Punjab Kings batter is second in the Orange Cap List, with two centuries to his name, both of which came against the Mumbai Indians.

Rohit Sharma seems to have no light at the end of the tunnel for him this season, as he has failed to deliver any impactful performance in IPL 2022. In two matches this week, he managed to score just 20 runs as Mumbai Indians had a mixed week, claiming one win and a loss.
Rohit particularly enjoys scoring against Kolkata Knight Riders, but he was dismissed for just two runs. Against Chennai Super Kings, Rohit got off to a decent start, scoring 18 runs off just 14 balls. However, that did not last long, as he was caught behind by MS Dhoni.
Now, with just two matches to spare, Rohit Sharma will be desperate to get back amongst the runs. He is yet to score a half-century this season, as he has often been dismissed in his 20s.
<h3>3. Virat Kohli</h3>

Virat Kohli is living a sort of a nightmare this season. Nothing seems to be working out for him as the Bangalore batter&#8217;s misery continued in the seventh week of the IPL 2022. Kohli was dismissed again for a golden duck against Sunrisers Hyderabad, after getting deceived early on by Jagadeesha Suchith.
Against Punjab Kings, Kohli looked like his former self as he got off to a flying start. The former Indian skipper smashed 20 runs off 14 balls, which included two boundaries and a maximum. The intent with which he walked out to bat was surely encouraging, and it seemed that he was certainly get a big score.
However, just the way it has been this season, he could not convert his start into a big innings as Kagiso Rabada got the better of the Indian batter. Luck certainly played a factor in his dismissal as the 33-year-old batter walked in disbelief after his dismissal.
<h3>4. Shreyas Iyer</h3>

Shreyas Iyer is another addition to the list of star Indian batters who have disappointed in week seven of IPL. The Kolkata Knight Riders skipper could manage just 12 runs in two innings last week, with twin scores of six runs against Mumbai and Lucknow. 
Against Lucknow, Shreyas walked into bat rather early after Aaron Finch&#8217;s dismissal, and his side needed a big knock from him. However, six runs off nine balls was all he could manage before getting dismissed by Dushmantha Chameera. Kolkata crumbled in the chase and were handed their seventh defeat of the season. Against Mumbai Indians, Iyer could again manage to score just six runs, as he was again caught out on the field.
Kolkata Knight Riders still have a glimmer of hope to reach the playoffs, but for that to happen, Shreyas will certainly need to step up with the bat. The Kolkata skipper has not had a poor season but has not lived up to his expectations either.
<h3>5. Aiden Markram</h3>

Aiden Markram&#8216;s inclusion in this list could be a harsh decision, given that Sunrisers Hyderabad have played just one game in week seven. The South African batter scored 21 runs off 27 balls against Royal Challengers Bangalore. He walked into bat with the score reading two wickets down for one run in just the first over.
Markram did steady the ship, building a 50-run stand with Rahul Tripathi, however, the middle-order battle lacked the positive intent with which he has batted so far in this season. He was content with singles and hardly made any attempt to go for the big shots.
Eventually, he departed for 21 and Sunrisers Hyderabad went on to face their fourth consecutive defeat. They do have a chance of making it to the playoffs, provided they win all their three games in the final week. Markram will play a key role for his side and he would want to play his natural game, which is counter-attacking the opposition bowlers.
<h3>6. Ambati Rayudu</h3>

Ambati Rayudu is one of the veterans of IPL, having been associated with Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings since 2010. The Chennai batter could manage just 15 runs in week seven. Against Delhi Capitals, he scored five runs off six balls, and could manage just 10 runs against the Mumbai Indians.
Rayudu was expected to start hitting big from the word go against Delhi, given the situation of the match. Hence, he cannot be blamed too much for that knock. However, a batting collapse against Mumbai Indians gave Rayudu plenty of time to build on his innings and take his side to a respectable total. However, he could not to that.
Moreover, Rayudu&#8217;s mode of dismissal against his former side was rather baffling as he seemed to be caught in two minds before edging the ball to Ishan Kishan, behind the stumps.
<h3>7. Rovman Powell</h3>

Rovman Powell has been of Delhi Capitals&#8217; consistent performers in the past few weeks. However, he did not contribute much in this week of the tournament. Against Chennai Super Kings, the West Indian was dismissed for just three runs off nine deliveries as Delhi succumbed to a 91-run loss.
The top order got the job done against Rajasthan Royals as Powell was not required to bat. His inclusion is surely debatable given that he has played just one innings, however, at this stage of the competition, one needs to take every chance bestowed upon a player.
Delhi Capitals are in a very fragile position at the moment, and they need to win both their remaining games to have a chance of making it to the playoffs. Powell will certainly be required in the upcoming matches.
