The speed gun from New Zealand with some extra pace in his armoury has been quite expensive this season. Ferguson’s story is not too different from that of Shami. Both have been doing well in this tournament but their economy rate has been a big issue for them.

GT played three games this week against RCB, PBKS, and MI in which Ferguson gave 36, 29, and 34 respectively in his quota of four overs respectively. He got just three wickets this week. His inability to pick up wickets has been one of the major reasons behind Gujarat’s back-to-back defeats.

In IPL 2022, he has got 12 wickets in 11 games at a bowling average of 32.0. He has bowled with an economy rate of nearly nine this season. You simply can’t be that expensive while bowling in a tournament like IPL.
