Mohammed Shami is a senior member of India’s pace unit. He has been around top-level cricket for a while. Shami has been playing IPL since 2013. He has played 88 IPL matches picking 94 wickets at a bowling average of 29.44. He is a master of seam bowling and was one of the most expensive picks of Gujarat Titans at the IPL 2022 mega auction.

The Bengal pacer is doing well in IPL 2022, but his economy rate has been a big issue for him. He is getting hit for too many runs which is a strange thing as Shami is considered an economical bowler. Shami has conceded at an economy rate of more than 10 runs per over in the 12 overs he has bowled in the three games Gujarat played this week.

Besides, his inability to pick up wickets in the last few games has been a concern for the Hardik Pandya-led franchise. The veteran pacer needs to hit the straps as the race for a top-two finish gets intense.
