Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) continued their merry run in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season on Sunday (May 1) with a win over Delhi Capitals. This was their seventh win of the season in 10 outings and are only one win away from more or less sealing their spot in the playoffs. Defending 195 runs, LSG were in control of the proceedings for the most parts, but the Capitals fought superbly to stay in the game till the last over only to fall short in the end by six runs.
Perhaps things got too close for comfort for LSG in the end and there were nervous faces in their dugout as well. Gautam Gambhir, mentor of the team, was also tensed with the proceedings and let out his emotions aggressively after LSG managed to keep their nerves in a close final over finish at the Wankhede Stadium.
As soon as the team won, Gambhir let out a roar fiercely and was delighted with his side continuing their winning run in IPL 2022. The video of the same has also gone viral as the fans drooled over his aggression on the field which was missing since the southpaw retired from all forms of the game.

KL Rahul and Mohsin Khan shine for LSG
As far as the match is concerned, KL Rahul once again stood like a rock for LSG leading from the front and scored 77 runs off 51 deliveries. He was well supported by Deepak Hooda as well who smashed 52 runs off just 34 deliveries with six fours and one six to his name as LSG were propelled to a score of 195 runs in their 20 overs.
In response, Delhi lost both their openers David Warner and Prithvi Shaw early and since then, they played catch up for the entire innings. Mitchell Marsh, Rishabh Pant, Rovman Powell and Axar Patel all played really well to take the game deep but the target proved to be a little too much for them in the end.
