IPL 2022: Gautam Gambhir's intense celebration catches limelight as LSG defeat CSK in a high-scoring thriller
Gautam Gambhir is the mentor of KL Rahul-led LSG.
In the seventh match of the IPL 2022, Lucknow Super Giants locked horns with Chennai Super Kings and the new franchise went on to register its maiden victory by six wickets. However, there was one moment that caught everyone’s attention and it was the intense celebration pulled off by LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir during the team’s success in the last game.
Gambhir, who is the mentor of KL Rahul-led LSG, is known for maintaining a calm and neutral composure throughout. However, when young talent Ayush Badoni hit Mukesh Choudhary for a maximum on the first legal delivery of the ultimate over, Gambhir found it hard to control his emotions. He was seen punching in while celebrating with his dug-out members.
Talking of the game, MS Dhoni and his men were put to bat first where sensational effort by batters led them to post massive 210 runs on the board. The main contributors here were Robin Uthappa (50 off 27) and Shivam Dube (49 off 30) accompanied by a fine cameo of Ambati Rayudu, Ravindra Jadeja, and MS Dhoni.
Evin Lewis holds nerves to push LSG to get past CSK by six wickets
Ravi Bishnoi was the best bowler from LSG’s end as he picked two wickets while conceding 24 runs in four overs. As soon as LSG kicked of their chase game, KL Rahul (40 off 26) and Quinton de Kock (61 off 45) stitched a 99-run stand for the opening wicket and the perfect tone was set for the franchise. The remaining work was done by some prolific hitting by Evin Lewis (55 off 23) and Ayush Badoni (19 off 9) as they pushed LSG to get over the line with three balls to spare in the game.
CSK bowlers couldn’t do much and not even one person rose to the occasion. Dwaine Pretorius appeared to be the only one who could contain runs a bit as he picked two wickets while conceding 31 runs in four overs.
