The Indian Premier League has been witness to several thrilling clashes over the years. Ever since the marquee T20 tournament's inception in 2008, the league has provided a platform for adrenaline-charged cricketing action. The brand value of the competition has only grown due to such contests being played on a regular basis.

However, there have been several instances of fixtures either ending with no decisive result (mainly due to rain) or the match ending in a tie with both sides ending up with identical scores at the end of their respective 20-over innings.

While a win ensures a couple of points, contests ending up being declared as a no result due to inclement weather end up with each side securing a point apiece. On the other hand, a tie has been followed by a Super Over which has had a history of going either way. Both these outcomes add an element of unpredictably to an already dynamic tournament.

Teams with most no-results/ties in a single season

Royal Challengers Bengaluru: 2013 - 2 (both tied)

RCB ended with 18 points after all was said and done in the 2013 edition of the IPL. They narrowly missed out on claiming the fourth place, with Sunrisers Hyderabad occupying the final playoffs berth with 20 points. Looking back, a lot could be attributed to the two games which RCB tied during the season - one interestingly being against SRH.

RCB's second game of the season went right down to the wire. It was a low-scoring thriller which played out in Hyderabad. Both sides ended up scoring 130 each (RCB: 130/8 and SRH: 130/7), respectively. Hanuma Vihari secured the Player of the Match accolade for his composed unbeaten 46-ball 44-run knock. In the first innings of the game, Vihari effected the vital wicket of Chris Gayle. SRH ended up winning the one-over eliminator.

A little over a week later, RCB were involved in another encounter which ended up getting resolved via a Super Over. This time around, RCB were able to get over the line at the Chinnaswamy. Virat Kohli emerged as the POTM with a commendable outing with the bat (65 off 50). The then-skipper also had two catches to his name during the game. A couple of maximums by AB de Villiers in the Super Over left Delhi Daredevils to chase 16 in the Super Over. Ravi Rampaul held his nerve to win it for the hosts.
