Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) returned to the winning ways against Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 37th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season. They successfully managed to defend 169 winning the game by a massive margin of 36 runs with the five-time champions losing all the steam as the innings progressed.
While KL Rahul shined with the bat scoring a century for LSG, their bowlers once again came up with a team effort. Krunal Pandya was the most successful bowler with the figures of 3/19. He dismissed two of his former teammates Rohit Sharma and Kieron Pollard apart from Daniel Sams in his four-over spell.
Krunal, during his stint with MI, had a very good camaraderie with Pollard and the left-arm spinner tried to get cheeky with the latter after dismissing him in the game. It happened in the final over of the innings when MI needed 39 runs off the last over. With no chance to win the game, Pollard tried to smack one out of the ground only to get holed out in the deep off Krunal Pandya.
This is when the Baroda all-rounder hilariously jumped in elation on his former MI teammate while he was walking back. However, a disappointed Pollard didn’t respond to Krunal as he calmly walked back to the dressing room.

MI lose their 8th consecutive game of the season
Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians succumbed to their 8th consecutive loss of the season. They continue their search for their first two points. Surprisingly, they didn’t even looked like winning the game in the chase despite bowling decently with the ball after winning the toss. Rohit Sharma and as usual, Tilak Varma sparkled scoring 30s but other batters didn’t step up at all which led to the team falling short in the chase.
With this win, LSG have climbed to the fourth position in the points table while MI continue to languish at the bottom with no wins in eight outings.
